ABBA have joined the 5 million album sales in the UK with one album 'club'

  • May 18, 2012
  • Brad O'Mance

'Gold: Greatest Hits' by ABBA has become the third album to sell over 5 million copies in the UK, reports the Official Charts Company.

The other two albums to reach this 'milestone' are Queen's 'Greatest Hits' and 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' by The Beatles.

Fine, but do either of them contain a song as good as 'Lay All Your Love On Me' or 'The Winner Takes It All'? No, exactly.

Bjorn Ulvaeus, whose quote was obviously written on the back of a postage stamp, enthused: "I can’t think of a club I’d rather join!"

Alright Bjorn, calm down, let someone else get a word in.
