A statue of Ed Sheeran reimagined as a pig has sold for £6,200 at auction

  • September 23, 2016
  • Brad O'Mance

A pig-shaped ceramic statue of Ed Sheeran — apparently known as Ed Sheer-ham — has been sold at auction for £6,200.

Please do allow your eyes to drift downward because the photograph that follows this paragraph is really quite spectacular.

The statue was initially part of an art trail in Ipswich and was among 39 sculptures up for sale. Others included one made to look like David Bowie (Piggy Stardust, sold for £2,600) and another made to look like Elvis (Elvis Porksley, sold for £2,800).

But the biggest success of the night was a ceramic-inspired design, Ipswich Blue, which fetched £6,500.

In total, the auction, raised £152,550 for the town's St Elizabeth Hospice, so well done everyone involved.
