"Do a straightforward proper pop song that isn't about the not-exactly-relatable topic of Being Lady Gaga!" they (/we/everyone) said.

"Alright," she said, "although I am still going to whack in a bit about 'write what you what' re the whole critics thing, and I'm going to invite R Kelly along to talk about Being R Kelly."

"Is it going to have an 'eh eh' bit?" we said.

"Yes," she said.

"And will it have some stuff about being in the club and some 'Fame Monster'-era melodic touches?" we said.

"Yes," she said.

"But will the tune actually be really good?" we asked.

"I've always had a way with a tune," she said. "FEAR NOT."

"Then go right ahead," we said. "You have our full permission to not only record this song but to issue it as one of those weird teaser single-but-not-single things off your new album. If possible, please release it with some artwork that feels a bit 'Lady  Gaga shouldn't really have to do that sort of thing'."

"Great!" she said. "I WILL SEE WHAT I CAN DO."
