The new Pipettes video: a posh house, a good tune and a teacup-based dance routine

  • March 23, 2010
  • Popjustice

Thanks to their instinctive passion for pop The Pipettes have always understood the importance of image and music working hand in hand, so the shonky video for last month's teaser track 'Our Love Was Saved By Spacemen' had us slightly worried about the band's future prospects.

Panic over: without being overly glossy this clip for the delicious new single 'Stop The Music' captures the band in just the right light, charismatic and likeable with an endearing awkwardness that recalls early-stage Bananarama. The band's new lineup — remember it's just Gwenno and her sister Ani this time round — makes sense for the first time, too.
