Scrubbing up a bit too nicely…

Remi Nicole has not sold a fraction of what she should have done by now and while label confidence seemed on the wane when last single 'Rock'n'Roll' was shunted off to a 'download only' release in the middle of the Christmas rush, Remi is getting another shot with fourth single 'Lights Out'. She has even made a video to promote said single.

Why people have not taken to Remi in the same way they have Kate Nash (especially in the light of Remi's album being the better of the pair) is a mystery, although Remi does have one trump card left up her sleeve: She looks fit as fuck in the 'Lights Out' video.

The video is almost certainly trying to say something about Remi losing her identity as a popstar and does a decent job of making the song sound suitably amazing. It does, however, fall down in the fact all the work put in by the faceless industry stylist types portrayed in the video make Remi look completely stunning.

But that clearly wasn't the point because Remi has made a point of being 'real' and being a tom-boy in her career to date which means the point of the video has spilled over into reality – the consequences of which are probably too terrible to contemplate.
