New video for old song

  • January 2, 2008
  • Popjustice

So this is the proper new UK video for 'Fascination' by Alphabeat which, as you know, has been knocking around for ages and is coming out here soon.

We would love to see how the clip's director/s pitched this to EMI, particularly in terms of the 'dancers in office wear'. We'd put a fiver on some sort of Wizard Of Oz reference in relation to it kicking off with black and white (boring for a short enough amount of time for it not to be boring) then bursting into colour for the first chorus (and therefore appearing more interesting than it would have done if it hadn't followed a boring bit).

Anyway, the video isn't exactly going to change anybody's opinion of the band but we are sure the label know what they are doing.

(The band are chucking out a free MP3 on their website, incidentally.)
