Like so much in pop these days, Dappy's new logo is either genius
or insane or a healthy mix of both.
1. Includes the hat.
2. Uses a likeable bouncy typeface to prove that he's quite jolly and nice so it's alright really.
The overall effect is something you might expect to see on the side of a children's toy, although at least things will be fairly easy when December rolls around.
We've already got his Christmas single planned out in our heads, actually. It's called 'Ni-ni-niiiine Ladies Dancing'. More information upon request.
The not-at-all-heavy-handed and not-at-all-aimed-at-the-US-market video for Dappy's debut solo single 'No Regrets' has also gone online today.
The song sounds like a really good N‑Dubz single but the lyrics are pretty bad in a number of ways. The line "I'm a changed man now — Chris Brown" says it all really, but the subtext is this: "I've been blamed for and/or got caught doing some bad stuff in the past and I feel bad about that, the being blamed and/or getting caught bit that is, but I am now presenting that as being all part of the growing process and I am now doing a sort of 'inspirational' anthem about how important it is to accept one's past and move on which will serve as proof that I have definitely changed (not that I needed to change because who you are is who you are and so on) until I get caught doing bad things again and then I will sort of apologise again while not really changing at all etc etc etc."
Some people do change. Maybe Dappy is one of them. Right? Right!
