Gaying up the greatest song of all time

  • November 6, 2007
  • Popjustice

'What Hurts The Most' is quite obviously one of the greatest songs of the past ten years. In fact, it's is one of the greatest songs of all time, no matter who sings it — ludicrous country and western boybands, ropey girl groups or that bloke who used to fix the van in S Club 7.

Therefore it should come as no surprise that Cascada's gaying up of 'What Hurts The Most' is totally, 100% a‑fucking-mazing.

Here is a little bit of it.

Well it's basically shit but you get the idea.

Here is a brief history of 'What Hurts The Most', a song so incredible that even Bellefire couldn't fuck it up.

The original but not the best: here is the Mark Wills version set to all sorts of exciting videogame bits.

If you are going to use a microphone you should at least turn it on. This lady looks a bit distracted.

Not the original, but Jo O'Meara's may be the best, in spite of all that funny business with that lady from another country.

Bellefire
, then. Even some YouTube vigilante setting the Bellefire version to 'Charmed' (the worst Sunday afternoon television programme of all time) does not make it rubbish.

Here is a young lady singing it on YouTube. Despite initial impressions she does not remove her top before the end of the song, although she might if you ask nicely.

The Rascal Flatts version was a big hit in America. The video has the most overblown, ridiculous introduction of all time – the howling was thankfully cut from the radio edit.

The definitive reading.
