'Fever' charted long ago

  • May 3, 2012
  • Popjustice

"FFS Popjustice," notes Kirkland Ciccone upon The Twitter. "Why haven't you put this up on the site?"

Well Kirkland we can understand your anger, as the song ('Fever' by B.Traits and Elisabeth Troy) is one of our favourites of the year.

It is the sort of pop song that makes things other pop songs seem to find quite difficult — updating the 90s sound, crossing over from one thing to another, smart euphoric amazingness etc etc — seem very easy.

In answer to your question Kirkland, when the song felt to us like it was kicking off around February and March

we were pretty busy getting the new site ready and lots of things fell through the gaps, and then by the time it was eventually released last month it felt a little bit after the event.

Kirkland, if you're reading this, do you think the song will end up being a hit? It didn't really end up setting the charts on fire when it came out, but it does feel like the sort of track that has a momentum to it. Do you think it could reappear later in the summer? Or do you think B.Traits has something even better up her sleeve and that we shouldn't worry too much about how 'Fever' wasn't a massive hit? What do you think Kirkland? FFS KIRKLAND, WHY HAVEN'T YOU REPLIED
