Excellent new compilation series alert

backbeatssampler.jpg

Every year or so a really amazing new set of compilations and reissues comes along — last year it was Harmless Records' incredible (if slightly unsavoury in name) 'Disco Discharge' series. In a couple of weeks the same label releases ten new albums under the 'Backbeats' umbrella, and these are the titles, copied and pasted from the press release:

'Back To My Place Baby – 70’s & 80’s Seductive Soul'
'Boogie’s Gonna Getcha – 80’s New York Boogie'
'Gimme A Break – 70’s Breakbeats & Future Samples'
'Livin The Nightlife – New York 80’s Garage'
'Philly Disco – Dance Floor Anthems From The City Of Love'
'Saturday House Fever – 90’s Garage Anthems'
'Soul Steppin – 80’s Soul Steppers'
'That Driving Beat – 60’s & 70’s Northern Soul Stompers'
'The House That Jackin Built – The Roots Of 60’s Chicago House'
'Windy City Soul – The Smooth 70’s Soul Of Chicago'

Most of these look like they will be Very Good Indeed. Certainly we've
been sent a sampler of tracks from across the series and its all top
notch stuff.

We just thought you might like to know.

There's more info here, along with a Facebook page.
