…and five things we noted from The X Factor over the weekend

  • August 24, 2009
  • Popjustice

VI Triple Trouble (above) are amazing.
Their wildly misjudged sense of entitlement means they would make perfect popstars.

VII The new live audition format doesn't work…
…and breaks an unbroken format while pointlessly attempting to fix it but The X Factor, like Madonna, ends up being incredible even when you think it's rubbish.

VIII Getting "a million percent" and "two million percent" in the first show was spoiling us.
PLUS we got our wish when it came to Simon throwing a strop because there was no talent then some talent turning up etc etc.

IX It feels like it might be a 'Brookstein Year'.
(But it might just be a 'Leon'.)

X Standards are slipping.
One of the so-called favourites turned up to his audition wearing shorts. SHORTS!

We're not sure this weekend-spanning, I‑to‑X format has worked very well. :(
