'Album' 'news'

  • March 28, 2006
  • Popjustice

This (above) arrived at Popjustice HQ last week. It is the new Keane album, although it's got 'Hairy Sheep' written on the CD because that is what happens these days with important musicians who don't want piracy 'n' dishonesty to rob them of CHART GLORY and CASH.

In a rare instance of Popjustice backing the right horse, we declared our love for Keane before they signed to Island and we still love them, even if they continue to be a bit light on the old dance routine front. (Buck your ideas up boys, etc.)

To be honest we find the whole 'describing what music sounds like' business a bit tedious so we'll just say that this album is the following:

    * Really good
    * Everything you'd quite like in a Keane album…
    * …while not sounding like the last one
    * ie they haven't got carried away, but nor have they pissed 'it' away
    * 'It' being 'being really good'
    * Got that?

If we'd ripped it into iTunes and put it onto our iPod we would have been listening to it all week — although of course we have not done that because the CD came with a very stern letter telling us not to do that sort of thing.
