Alanis Morissette has been in talks about being a judge on American Idol

  • August 24, 2012
  • Brad O'Mance

'Doth I Protest Too Much' chanteuse Alanis Morissette has confirmed that she's in talks about joining the American Idol panel.

"Yes, I have been in conversations about it, and that's the degree to which I can share the info right now," she succinctly told CNN (as quoted here).

She didn't stop there of course: "I live to mentor [WHO DOESN'T], so my heart is much more open to the idea of that than even 10 years ago when I, perhaps, wasn't in a position to be able to offer much advice, solicited or otherwise."

"But I love watching people and just getting really curious about what they want and what they need and what their goals are, and then I can support them. I would do it formally, for sure."

Just imagine.

Alanis joins a pretty long list of people rumoured to be replacing Steven Tyler. The list includes Nicki Minaj, Adam Lambert, P Diddy, Nick Jonas and Kanye West.
