'Don't Stop (Funkin' 4 Jamaica)' chanteuse Mariah Carey will be honoured as the BMI Icon at the BMI Urban Awards on September 7, it's been announced.
The award highlights Mariah's "unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers" and will include an all-star tribute thing.
No word as yet who might be doing the tributing or whether Mariah herself will have a bit of a singsong, but we're sure that will all be announced in due course, as these things often are.
