Lots more people on the internet are now fans of Rihanna and Chris Brown

  • March 2, 2012
  • Mikey

Both Rihanna and Changed Man Chris Brown have seen their online popularity sharply rise following the release of their recent collaborations.

Billboard's Social 50 ranks the popularity of artists based on statistics from sites such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Vevo and MySpace (!). This week Rihanna hopped from Number 4 to Number 3 on the chart while Chris jumped five places to Number 5.

The remix of 'Birthday Cake' has clocked up over 4m views and 11,000 comments in one week, with Rihanna gaining 427,000 new Twitter followers and 483,000 extra Facebook fans. Chris Brown has been similarly endorsed with a 28% increase in Facebook fans and 23% rise in followers on Twitter.

Well done everyone.

The Top 10 of this popularity contest also includes Adele at Number One and birthday boy Justin Bieber at Number 2.
