Plan B, Dizzee Rascal and Tinie Tempah did well at the Ivor Novello thing

  • May 20, 2011
  • Brad O'Mance

Plan B, Dizzee Rascal and Tinie Tempah 'scooped' the top awards at the Ivor Novello's yesterday.

Tinie Tempah's 'Pass Out' won the award for Best Contemporary Song, while Dizzee Rascal won the Inspiration Award.

Songwriter of the year, PRS Award for Music Most Performed Work and the Album Award all went to Plan B, who was the most successful artist of the day.

When asked whether his success in UK has left him hoping to crack America, B responded, "It just seems to be a lot of cock sucking that has to go on in order to get your music to get played to the masses and I'm just not prepared to suck cock really."

He also explained to the Metro that he thought US radio stations would struggle to categorize him: "I'm too white for the black radio stations and I'm too black for white radio stations so nobody knows where to place me."
