Mariah Carey will have a role on US X Factor

Simon Cowell has confirmed that Mariah Carey will have a role to play in the US version of The X Factor.

Following what feels like years of constant spec­u­la­tion over who will be employed in any fashion for the show, Cowell has said that the currently eight months pregnant Carey won't be a regular judge but may be "the judge of the judges" telling a Washington radio station that "she'll be involved in some form. I literally adore her. I love her to bits".

In other X Factor-based news, Cowell has confirmed he won't be a judge on the UK version of the show.
