Who is the worst boyband of all time?

We've been thinking about boybands a lot recently, as one does. We reckon the worst we've ever seen is E‑Male, who performed a showcase at some theatre or other in central London. The band were all ex-members of the Starlight Express cast and the showcase invite came attached to a rollerskate — you had to attend to pick up its matching partner.

Their song, 'We Are E‑Male', contained the memorable chorus "we are E‑Male, we just can't fail" but of course the whole thing was a total disaster, and that was back in 1998 when a smooth-chested 19-year-old boy could fart in a bath and find himself in the Top 3 on cassingle sales alone. Still, it's funny to think in these days when a band like Avenue actually have to be half decent for a label to even look at them that back then mainstream, singy-dancey pop was so big that E‑Male actually managed to get signed to EastWest Records.

Anyway, who do you rank particularly low on the boybandometer? Click here to tell us — there's a pair of V flip flops for the best entry.
