That's all very well but what about the next Girls Aloud album?

  • June 11, 2008

We always thought it would be Nadine who'd be responsible for Girls Aloud's demise but maybe we can start throwing wild and unfounded accusations at Cheryl, who'll be spending the rest of the year on X Factor as Sharon Osbourne's replacement.

1. Will she have time to record (NB: by 'record' we mean 'generally do') the new Girls Aloud album?

2. Will her raised profile help Girls Aloud's sales later this year, or can we look forward to another 'Touch Me Like That'?

Maybe it doesn't really matter that much.

Let's see what The Public have to say about this over on The Sun's website.

"she will fit sharons shoes perfectly. 1 nasty piece of work to another! another talentless bitch, thinking shes top of the pops"

"this is a joke, this no talent silly girl has been in the industry what all of 5yrs and she gets to judge others ha ha, i think this show has had is sell by date now…"

"Surely they could have asked countless far more qualified people to mentor next series but I guess the criteria is media exposed rather than qualified."

"maybe they are hoping the fellas will start watching the programme now, and this might lead to more votes, and this will lead to more cash pouring in. i must admit, i'm sure they could have found someone more knowledgable and experienced if they tried, but viewing figures takes priority i guess. at least its not the ghastly meb b. urgh"

"There's no reasoning behind this decision."

"Tweedy has no qualifications to mentor anyone."

Of course this is all going to turn around when Cheryl is given a weekly opportunity to prove that she is One Of The Nicest Ladies In Pop, but it'll be interesting to see how the rest of the year pans out in Girls Aloud world.
