Sneak magazine has closed. There won't even be an issue next week.
It might look (right) like it was a complete OMG-fest, but Sneak was actually quite amazing. When it started off it was closer to Proper Smash Hits than Actual Smash Hits had been for years.
We loved the way Sneak quietly dropped their 'Guaranteed Gareth' drive, we loved the real life story about being bummed by pirates, we loved the photograph of the birthday cake with Justin Timberlake's face on it. They once listed Popjustice in their 'A‑Z Of Cool' list, too, which was both nice and spot on.
Even today it is still funny and clever and a good magazine. Clearly that was not enough for a generation of teenage girls who would rather spend their time 'bluetoothing' 'ringtones' to each other, happy slapping pensioners and downloading gay porn from the internet.
Not quite so much of a blubfest as when Smash Hits closed, then, but a bit shoddy all round really. And what will happen to the Pecs & The City boys?
