New Boyband Alert!

  • May 8, 2006
  • Popjustice

Here's your first look at a new boyband called 365. They're one of the groups we mentioned in our Boyband Ejaculation article at the start of January. In the intervening months they've changed their name from the similarly un-Googlable HQ.

In reverse order, right to left:

356.5 — If you don't take that off you won't feel the benefit.
365.4 — Unfold your arms and at least look like you're enjoying yourself.
365.3 — Stand up straight, you're having your picture taken.
365.2 — Get some new jeans, those ones are faded.
365.1 — You'll do.

Their real names are, and we're going left to right this time, Danny (23), Brad (20), Andre (19), Kye (23) and Brett (21), you can probably add a year to each of those ages, they're signed to EMI Innocent (who've brought us the likes of Blue and Tomcat), and they've been working with… Drumroll…

    * Richard 'Biff' Stannard and Matt 'Matt' Rowe (Spice Girls, Kylie, Will Young)!
    * Johnny Douglas (but not this one)!
    * Cutfather and Joe (Jamelia, Lemar)!
    * Jarrad Rogers (Lauryn Hill, Brand New Heavies)!

Amazing.

They've put one of their songs, 'That Thing', online. It's unlikely to be the first single but it's quite great, partly because it doesn't really sound like anything to come out of boybandom in a very long time. This is how the chorus goes.

"It's only that thing I'm feeling inside
Yes it's that thing doing me right
It's only that thing I can't deny
Something tells me we're gonna be just fine."

We wonder what 'that thing' is. [INSERT VIBRATOR JOKE HERE]

Anyway, the long and short of all this is that it's a big Popjustice thumbs up to 365, and it's not just us thinking that because Music Week think it's quite good too. Just make the most of the picture above — in two and a half years they'll all have beards.
