Liam Payne has signed a record deal with Capitol Records UK

  • July 21, 2016
  • Brad O'Mance

Liam

Former ALTHOUGH THEY'RE JUST ON A BREAK ALRIGHT One Direction spokesman Liam Payne has signed a solo deal with Capitol Records UK.

According to a press statement, Payno will be popping into the studio soon to start work on his debut solo opus which sort of suggests they've signed him without hearing any music.

Liam had this to say for himself: "I'm really happy to have signed to such a prestigious label as Capitol Records UK. Capitol Records has an amazing history stretching right back before even Frank Sinatra and I'm really looking forward to becoming part of their story. One Direction will always be my family; I'm now excited to show what I can do as a solo artist."

Imagine if that Sinatra reference is a sign of his forthcoming musical direction.

But never mind that — what does Nick Raphael, President of Capitol Records UK have to say about it all?

"Capitol Records UK are incredibly excited to be working with Liam. It's not often you get the chance to sign such a talented and ambitious 22 year old who has already conquered the world."

Well quite.
