Becky G — 'Break A Sweat'

  • August 21, 2015
  • Popjustice

In a sense, and this may sound harsh but life's harsh so get over it, Becky G should have knocked it on the head after 'Can't Stop Dancin''.

What, really, is the point in carry on with a pop career — what is the point in ANYTHING — if people aren't going to respond in any meaningful way to a song as unequivocally amazing as 'Can't Stop Dancin''?

Becky G would have been quite within her rights to have stropped out of the pop scene completely, slamming the door behind her. "GOOD LUCK YOU FUCKERS," she could/should have shouted. "YES I'M DEFINITELY GOING NOW," she might well have said after briefly re-entering pop after realising she'd left her phone on the table.

But it's a good job she didn't piss off because 'Break A Sweat' is great. You think it's 'shown its hand' in the first minute or so but then it blossoms later on.
