Robbie's got an extension on the deadline for his Take That decision

  • March 28, 2014
  • Brad O'Mance

take that progressIt looks like Robbie Williams' deadline to decide whether or not he'd like to be in Take That for their next album has been extended to the end of May.

As we reported in January, the original deadline was March, but Lord Gary of Barlow has said he's got an extension.

"We need to know what we are doing by the end of May," he said to Alan Carr (as quoted here). "The thing is with Robbie is that he is a family man, so whether he will be in the final line-up I’m not sure."

(Basically he's been given the extension because the band have only just started working on the album.)

"We’re one month into the writing process, with the new record hopefully at Christmas and a tour next year," Garry explained. "We think we have some good material already but no album title just yet."

Mind you, even if Robbie does find himself too busy to join the rest of the 'lads', he can still help out a bit.

“If he’s not back in the band, he’ll write on the record and we will work with him on his next record.”

So there we have it.
