The Wanted will continue being 'honest' because apparently that's what people want from them

  • September 3, 2013
  • Brad O'Mance

The WantedSiva from banter bothering boyband The Wanted thinks it's good that the band are 'honest' in interviews because that's what fans want from their "idols".

"Our fans know us as being honest, so we give them an honest opinion," he told Glamour magazine (as quoted here). "Some things [we’ve said] in the past have been a bit too extreme, but as long as people take us – and excuse all the naughty things we say – and focus on our music, I couldn’t care."

Focusing on the music part is usually the first thing to go, isn't it.

"The fans should know who their idols really are – the positives and the negatives," he continued. "To be glossy – to be fake – I don’t think it’s good for the fans, because they buy into the person. They should buy into the truth, a role model you can trust. I think at heart we’re good people."

Nathan, meanwhile, reckons every "lad" should be in a boyband at some point.

"You get that hysteria, and it’s an amazing thing. I would tell every lad in the country to experience this at some point because it’s really fucking cool."

Hm.
