Emeli Sandé won't start writing her new album until all the promotion for this one is over

  • January 16, 2013
  • Brad O'Mance

emelisandeStruggling singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé hopes to start writing her next album once all the promotion for the current one dies down a bit.

Having a chat with Billboard ahead of an American tour (WATCH OUT US TELEVISION VIEWERS) the 'Daddy' hitmaker explained: "I haven't really had time to kind of stop and think about what I want to do yet. I'm trying to write on the road, but I think I need to finish these tours and really sit down and dedicate some proper time to writing."

She'd also quite like to do this writing in America if that's at all possible.

"I really liked Atlanta. I really like New York. I'm sure I'll work in England some more, too," she mused. "I'm just so happy the people in the UK could really connect to the music, and I'm not abandoning them or anything like that."

In regards to trying to 'crack' America, she's aware that she'll need to utilise the same subtle, softly-softly, hardly any real promo, leave-the-fans-wanting-more campaign she used in the UK: "You can't really force it, so I'm just trying to introduce the music slow and steady."
