Kelly Clarkson won't be getting her hands on Jane Austen's ring after all

  • September 23, 2013
  • Brad O'Mance

Kelly ClarksonA ring once owned by Jane Austen, and bought by Kelly Clarkson for £152,450 at auction last year, will be staying in the UK after a rival bid was placed and accepted.

As we mentioned last month, fun-spoiling culture minister Ed Vaizey wanted the ring to stay in the UK and now it will after Jane Austen's House Museum raised the money to keep it thanks to an anonymous donation of £100,000.

Showing the sort of amazing restraint and composure that proves once and for all that she should have been able to do whatever the fuck she wanted with that bloody ring, Clarko had this to say (as quoted here): "The ring is a beautiful national treasure [SO ARE YOU KELLY] and I am happy to know that so many Jane Austen fans will get to see it at Jane Austen's House Museum."

What Kelly should do now is just buy the museum and see how 'Ed Vaizey' likes 'them apples'.
