The salient points


  • Will Young won the first series of Pop Idol which was a bit of a surprise at the time because everyone seemed to like Gareth Gates more.

  • Will Young went on to release some songs he'd borrowed from other people like 'Light My Fire' and 'Evergreen' and 'The Long And Winding Road' which were sort of acceptable but at the same time not really.

  • He also released some properly amazing songs of his own like 'Leave Right Now', 'All Time Love' and 'Switch It On' which has a fairly OTT video. These releases were very acceptable indeed.

  • Will Young also does some seriousface acting and is apparently quite good at it.

  • In 2010, Will Young's seven-year-old single 'Leave Right Now' was thrust into the hearts of viewers of American Idol's ninth season after it was chosen as the contestants' exit song.

  • Will's fifth album, 'Echoes' was produced by Richard X and was very amazing. One of the singles from it had a video with a dog in it that made everyone cry.
