The salient points

• When Sky Ferreira was a child she used to hang out with Michael Jackson. One day he asked her to sing for him and he found it all so emotional that he cried.


• When she was 15 she approached producers Bloodshy & Avant in a club (what was she doing there at that age, etc) and demand that they work with her.


• In 2010, things were looking pretty good for our Sky. Both '17' and 'One' are very much amazing.


• Things started going slightly wrong when she started saying not very nice things about 'Obsession' (which, to be fair, isn't that great).


• The 'As If!' EP is nothing short of incredible mind you.


• In 2012, still signed to EMI, she released the 'Ghost' EP (in America only), which featured the Shirley Manson-'penned' 'Red Lips', Deb Hynes 'collabo' 'Everything Is Embarrassing' and squelchy electro belter 'Lost In My Bedroom'.


• It sort of feels like she's making the music she wants to make now, so that's a good thing.
