Complete strangers Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thrilwall were thrust together to form a girlband during the bootcamp stages of The X Factor in 2011.
The group were originally called 'Rhythmix' but that name was already taken.
Sadly, the moniker 'Little Muffins' was freely available.
When Little Mix did this it was pretty much game, set and match from there on in.
Having performed songs like 'ET', 'Telephone' and 'Tik Tok' during the show and won the whole thing on the strength of all that, it was decided that Damien Rice's 'Cannonball' would be a suitable winner's single.
Well done everyone.
Little Mix's first proper single is 'Wings'. They worked with Andrea Martin ('Don't Let Go (Love)'), TMS ('No Regrets', 'Rockstar', 'Read All About It') and Sparx out of Triple 8 on their debut album.
