Niall Horan reckons new One Direction material could be nine weeks away

  • June 29, 2012
  • Brad O'Mance

One Direction frontman Niall Horan has been talking about the band's next album.

"We've been recording already, actually," he told MTV. "When we came back from Australia, we had a couple weeks off and then we went straight into the studio to get cracking on the next album."

Continuing with the "cracking" theme, he added: "We wrote an absolutely cracking song that we're all kind of very excited about."

If you're thinking 'but people say they're working on new material and then nothing comes out for about 18 months' fear not because Niall reckons a single will be out in September.

"Then obviously we've got to make a decision for a single soon, 'cause we have to get a single out towards September, I suppose," he sort of confirmed.

He was also quick to dismiss assumptions that the band aren't involved in their art. "We want to have the most control that we possibly can of everything that we do," he explained. "Like at the moment, I'm just proofreading the single artwork for the next single. They don't see that."

How much proofreading does a single cover need Niall?
