Justin Bieber's broken a record in America.
'Boyfriend' has been played more times than any other song by a male solo artist in its first week of release on American airwaves. It's the kind of record that only really looks good in a press release but well done everyone anyway.
The track was played a not insubstantial 3,961 times on US radio last week — an average of 31 times per station that make up the airplay segment of the Billboard Hot 100.
Meanwhile in the UK, Radio 1 is yet to add it to their playlist after offering up the premiere last week. Well done everyone.
