Janet Jackson will not only receive the inaugural and definitely not made up for the occasion Ultimate Icon: Music Dance Visual award (!) at the forthcoming BET Awards, she'll also have a tribute paid to her by Ciara, Tinashe and Jason 'Jason Derulo' Derulo.

Exact details of this tribute are scarce, and it's not known whether Ms Jackson will herself be performing, but what we do know is that BET’s president of programming, Stephen G Hill is quite excited by it all. It's going to be a big night for Stephen!

"This is Janet Jackson, people! We are excited beyond belief to present her with our inaugural ULTIMATE ICON: Music Dance Visual award and we are thrilled that she chose the BET Awards as the first step on her new road.”

He continued: “An inspiration to many other artists, ‘Ms. Jackson’ (‘cause I’m nasty) blends music, dance and visuals in unique and groundbreaking ways and we look forward to celebrating her storied history…As well as giving the BET Awards audience a peek into her Unbreakable future."

So there we go. The awards take place on June 28 at 8pm EST, so it's one of those 'check YouTube the next morning' jobs.
