Avril Lavigne has come to the rescue of MIA's finger.
In an attempt to put the whole debacle into perspective she tweeted: "MIA sticking her middle finger out at Super Bowl is obscene? How about almost 50 million Americans living in poverty. That's obscene."
Thanks for sorting that one out, Avril.
As reported earlier, the US Parent's Television Council called the gesture "another slap in the face to families".
