Alright calm down Dr Luke isn't joining the American Idol judging panel

  • August 28, 2013
  • Brad O'Mance

Dr Luke'We Are Hip-Hop, Me, You, Everybody' producer Dr Luke will not be joining American Idol as a judge after all, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Rumours that the Dr had signed up to join Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban have been 'flying' for a few weeks, but basically he couldn't really do it because he has a label deal with Sony and all the acts on the show go through Universal.

According to an 'insider', he's also keen to focus his energy on his acts, including occasionally awful and occasionally brilliant rapper Becky G.

"He really loves his artists and wants to build up the label," the 'source' said. "Luke wants to build an entertainment company…After a lot of conversations, both Luke and Sony Music CEO Doug Morris came to the mutual agreement that taking Dr Luke out of the Idol running "was the best thing for all parties.""

So there we have it.
