Maroon 5's 'Moves Like Jagger' makes people in America more productive apparently

  • June 4, 2012
  • Brad O'Mance

According to an utterly pointless if mildly-entertaining-on-a-wet-Bank-Holiday 'study' Maroon 5's 'Moves Like Jagger' makes workers in the US more productive.

The 'research' was undertaken by online music concierge service (?) Songza, who found that over half the people they asked said they did more work listening to Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera sing about taking each other by the tongue.

Disturbingly, 42 per cent of people were given a boost by Gotye's coma-inducing 'Somebody That I Used To Know'. Glee's cover of Journey's 'Don't Stop Believin'', meanwhile, provoked "deep feelings of resentment and anger", which seems like a bit of an exaggeration.

Elias Roman, Songza CEO had this to say about the findings, as quoted by Contactmusic: "Regardless of the genre, music has long been an integral part of American culture. We're not surprised to see how tastes, tempos and musical preferences define the characteristics of different regions."

(If you were to ask us what makes us more productive we'd say Nicki Minaj's 'Starships' followed by 'All Fired Up' by The Saturdays followed by six coffees and a chocolate digestive.)
