Avril Lavigne is already working on a new album

  • June 20, 2011
  • Brad O'Mance

26-year-old teenager Avril Lavigne is beginning work on a new album with a twist — it's "pop".

Despite having only just released her fourth album, Avril is eager to record again. "I already have 8 songs! I would like to release the 5th album really quick", she told fansite Avril Lavigne BandAids in a futuristic Skype interview.

Some might think it a challenge for her to leave behind her bona fide rockstar roots, but Lavigne assured fans that the transition into such uncharted territories would be smooth.

"This record was more mellow, and the next one will be pop and more fun again. I already have a song that I know is going to be a single, I just need to re-record it!"
