Throw all belongings into the street and set fire to the lot: you need nothing more in your life than Miley Cyrus' 'Party In The USA'. As you will have surmised over the last few years we usually can't stand the pool of moronic Hollywood Records shit in which Miley Cyrus seems happy to wallow but this song brings the Miley Cyrus decent song count (alongside 'See You Again') to TWO and will definitely be in the Top 10 when critics put together their Best Of The 2000s lists at the end of the century.

'PARTY IN THE USA' Q&A

What's the song about?
'Party In The USA' is about partying in the United States of America. It follows Miley on a trip from Nashville to LA — she's not sure if she will fit in but she does, thanks to MUSIC.

Is music, once again, the winner?
Yes.

What's the best lyric?
In the "my best friend Lesley said 'oh she's just being Miley'" stakes we'd go for "it's definitely not a Nashville party cause all I see is stilettos — I guess I never got the memo". We also like "I'm noddin' my head like yeah! Movin' my hips like yeah!" for the total lack of effort that so clearly went into constructing a lyric that works so well.

Does it reference both Jay‑Z and Britney Spears?
Yes. The first two bridges are "that's when the taxi man turned on the radio and the Jay‑Z song was on, and the Jay‑Z song was on, and the Jay‑Z song was on", and "that's when the DJ dropped my favorite tune, and the Britney song was on, and the Britney song was on, and the Britney song was on". The song is therefore POSTMODERN and DEEPLY CLEVER.

Oh dear — does that mean this is the sort of song that will quickly become a 'jam of choice' for a very specific type of faux pop aficionado who likes the idea of being perceived as a pop music fan more than they actually like pop music itself?
Yes.

Is it one of those songs that's brilliant and shit at the same time?
Yes, but it is not 'so bad it's good' — that is a different sort of thing all together.

Let's listen again before it gets whipped off YouTube.
