The Leaky Return of Christina Aguilera

  • June 1, 2006
  • Popjustice

The new Christina Aguilera single 'Ain't No Other Man' (a clip of which was featured here on Popjustice a few months ago until we got a cease and desist email) has leaked on the web in high quality and is absolutely everywhere.

Is it any good?

We do not know because, as keen supporters of the forward-thinking notion that record sales are the only way to make money from music and that downloading songs illegally is directly taking money from recording artists' mouths even if the word of mouth generated from such an act would more than compensate for the three pence revenue lost from that initial download, we have not illegally acquired the song.

But we would imagine…

    * It's great.

    * Although it takes a few listens.

    * It sounds pretty much like you'd expect a Christina Aguilera comeback single to sound.

    * The "you got soul, you got class, you got style with your bad ass" line is the best bit.

    * Etc etc etc.

Odd, isn't it, that the song leaked in high (but not CD) quality less than 24 hours after Beyonce announced full details of her new album, and that the buzz about Christina's new material has now overtaken speculation about Beyonce's.

Very odd indeed.
