'Shine My Shoes' hitmaker Robbie Williams will release his forthcoming eleventh album with a new label having signed a "once in a lifetime" deal with Sony Music.
The album, which reunites Williams with Lisa Scott-Lee collaborator Guy Chambers, will be released via Columbia in the UK, but there's no news on who will chuck it out in America, apols.
This is all very well of course, but what does UK chairman/CEO Jason Iley have to say about it all?
“We are delighted to be working with Robbie,” he mused in a statement (quoted here). “This is a once in a lifetime signing with the biggest male solo artist of our generation. When he met the team, there was an immediate connection and we are immensely proud to be releasing what is sure to be an album that defines an exciting new chapter for Robbie.”
Okay, great.
Surely Robbie had something to say about it all too though?
“The team at Sony are professional, incredibly hungry, and have a great energy. They’re inspired, I’m inspired. I’m more ready than I ever have been and I’m totally convinced I’m in the right place. I look forward to working on this album, which is an album I’m immensely proud of, in this exciting new partnership with Sony Music.”
Having seen the fully-stocked Sony canteen we're not sure about the "incredibly hungry" bit, but everything else sounds good.
