Adele will be having a singsong at the Oscars

adele2According to the official Twitter account for 'The Academy' Adele will be per­form­ing at this year's Oscars ceremony.

"Best 4 Words Ever: Adele Performing At #Oscars. (You know you wanna RT.)" read the tweet, which is a bit pre­sump­tu­ous but quite exciting if you like either Adele or the Oscars or — and this really will be your lucky day — both.

Actually we should probably clarify the headline slightly as the tweet doesn't in fact confirm that Adele will be singing, merely that she will be per­form­ing. Could this mark the first public outing for Adele's fabled 'Aguilera medley for glockenspiel'?

Anyway, the Oscars take place on Sunday February 24 in LA.
