The salient points

• Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe met way back in 1981 - before electricity had been invented - yet somehow managed to make some of the best electronic dance music the world has ever known.


• They've sold over 100m records worldwide. If you lined up all the records they've sold end to end you would have a very long line of records.


• All ten of their studio albums have one word titles. The best of which is obviously 'Very'.


• Both Neil and Chris are big fans of hats.


• As well as being purveyors of perfect pop they also dabble in arty stuff like operas and musicals and ballets etc but that can be a bit hit and miss.


• 'Hit & Miss' is one of their b-sides, you know.
