While his work experience placement with Queen continues, ‘Welcome To The Show’ hitmaker Adam Lambert has returned to his solo career and will be releasing a new single called ‘Two Fux’ on June 30.

The title is a clever way of being able to swear without really swearing. Try it the next time you’re in the Post Office by telling someone go fux themselves. “Ah!!! But you cannot be angry because I did not say ‘go fuck yourself’!” you can say. “But in saying that you did just say ‘go fuck yourself’,” they will say. “Mind your language,” you can triumphantly bellow before flouncing out of the Post Office and taking your custom elsewhere, before realising that posting a heavy item to arrive tomorrow midday is precisely the sort of custom it is impossible to take elsewhere. Five minutes later, having used a Sharpie to hastily draw a moustache and spectacles on your face, you will reappear in the Post Office, and will have to queue all over again.

That image of Lambo slouching on a chair you can hopefully see above is the song’s ‘cover art’, while a snippet of the song can be heard below. WARNING: Includes the lyric “namaste right here”.

Rita Ora, Stormzy, Louisa Johnson, Geri Halliwell and Emeli Sandé are among the artists whose cover of ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ is released tomorrow at 8am. The video will be shown before Corrie.

At first glance the array of performers really is ‘quite something’, although of course it’s really just an indication of how genre-based and popgenerational boundaries mean absolutely fuck all in a situation like this.

Cash raised by the song is going to The London Community Foundation. If you don’t feel like you need to wait to hear Pixie Lot and WSTRN singing a Simon & Garfunkel song in order to make a donation you can click here and send some cash right now.

Anyway, here are the artists who’ve contributed to the single.

That donations link again: is here.

Demi Lovato’s got a behind-the-scenes YouTube show, Simply Complicated, coming soon https://www.popjustice.com/thenews/demi-lovatos-got-a-behind-the-scenes-youtube-show-simply-complicated-coming-soon/ Tue, 20 Jun 2017 10:09:54 +0000 https://www.popjustice.com/?p=146249 "I think I am simply complicated."

Demetria Devonne ‘Demi Lovato’ Lovato has been chatting away about her new YouTube show, Simply Complicated (“I think I am simply complicated”), which is due to ‘air’ on YouTube.

Having a chat to some people at Cannes Lions (as reported here), she said she’d taken to decision to make the ‘behind-the-scenes docudrama, and have cameras follow her 24 hours a day, because she’s “at a pivotal point in my life, turning 25”.

(Fucking hell mate if you think this is bad wait until you hit 30.)

Demi of course also wants the series to help her connect more with her fans: “I’m looking at my future and my past and I want to share that with my fans.”

So why YouTube we hear you cry? Why isn’t this on BBC One or something?

“YouTube is the OG,” Lovato mused. “YouTube has been around for so long. I started my own YouTube channel over 10 years ago and I’ve been able to create my own content and to connect with my fans through there, so being able to partner with you guys has been a dream come true.”

So there you are: conventional television is dead and Demi Lovato does not care.

It’s not clear when Simply Complicated starts but we’re sure Demi will tell us ‘across her socials’.

The likes of Niall Horan, Grimes and Lorde all ‘walked off with’ (got) awards at the iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards in Canada last night, so well done to them.

In a fairly varied lineup of winners that proved once again the power of an online fanbase (Niall beat Ed Sheeran, Lorde and Beyoncé to win Fan Fave International Artist or Group, for example), there were also wins for Shawn Mendes, Drake, Imagine so-called ‘Dragons’ and, er, Camila Cabello who won Best New International Artist.

You can see the full list of winners here.

And just how much it meant to Lorde here:

Pet Shop Boys are releasing ‘Catalogue: 1985-2012’, ie reissues of their Parlophone albums https://www.popjustice.com/thenews/pet-shop-boys-are-releasing-catalogue-1985-2012-ie-reissues-of-their-parlophone-albums/ Tue, 13 Jun 2017 09:41:38 +0000 https://www.popjustice.com/?p=146184 Each album includes at least one 'further listening' CD.

The post Pet Shop Boys are releasing ‘Catalogue: 1985-2012’, ie reissues of their Parlophone albums appeared first on Popjustice.

]]>

Up-and-coming electronic pop purveyors Pet Shop Boys have announced ‘Catalogue: 1985-2012’, “a very special series of reissues of all their studio albums released on Parlophone” according to a press release with lots and lots of song titles in it.

As with the group’s first batch of album reissues in the early-2000s, each edition will include a remastered version of the original album alongside ‘Further listening’ collections of “master quality bonus tracks and demos created in the same period of time as each album, as well as Pet Shop Boys’ own remixes of their tracks”.

Some of those tracks, including an Elton John duet, are being released for the first time, so that’s nice. As before, each album will come with a nice booklet in which Neil and Chris discuss each song, and there will also be some pretty pictures.

This seems like as good a time as any to reacquaint ourselves with the best song to be included on the ‘Very’ further listening CD, ie ‘Falling’, the song they wrote for Kylie which she sort of accepted but only after she’d taken out all the tune and most of the lyrics.

Anyway the first three of the new batch are out on July 28 and they’re ‘Nightlife’, ‘Release’ and ‘Fundamental’.

(‘Yes’ is still to come, which will hopefully mean there are loads of Xenomania out-takes on the horizon, and if the pop gods are smiling on us might also mean we get the Neil version of Girls Aloud’s ‘The Loving Kind’.)

]]>

Scissor Sisters have come out of hiatus for one song only with a song that poses (and answers) one question: “What do you get when you twerk and you twirl and you werk and you swerve and you swirl?”

The collaboration with noted tunesmith MNDR is online today and cash from the song’s going to the Contigo Fund, which popped up in the wake of the Pulse nightclub shooting.

Here’s a quote about the song from Scissor Sisters:

“The community that brought Scissor Sisters and MNDR to life experienced an incredible loss that we can’t allow to be forgotten. SWERLK is our way to honor the people and culture that allowed us to escape and be ourselves.”

Can we be quite clear on this: ‘Swerlk’ is a total monster.

In related news, Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears is currently on tour in America, and has solo material coming out, presumably, later this year. If you’d like to see him live there’s one date left and it’s in New Orleans tomorrow night, so start booking flights sooner rather than later.

Selena Marie Gomez, aka Selena Gomez, has said some words about her forthcoming new music, ie not current single ‘Bad Liar’, and – you guessed it – “it’s an evolution”.

Having a chat with your friend and mine, SiriusXM’s Nicole Ryan (as quoted here), the ‘Slow Down’ hitmaker said the new music “is very different from the Kygo record and ‘Bad Liar’.”

Is the next one completely different from ‘Bad Liar’ though?

“The next one is completely different from ‘Bad Liar’,” she confirmed. “It’s an evolution and I know it’s different and I just wanted it to sound like something I’ve never done before.”

So now you know.
