The problem with 'Strict Machine' was always that it didn't sound quite glam enough

  • November 10, 2011

This might have been endlessly wanked on about on 'the blogosphere' when it came out (which was a few months ago) but it only came to our attention today that Suzi Quatro — in many ways the Sky Ferreira of her day — only went and covered Goldfrapp's 'Strict Machine' on her last album. And if you're thinking, 'well it's not that much of a stretch, it sounded like a Suzi Quatro song to start with', she's really 'done a number' on it here.

The same album also includes a rather less successful cover of Rihanna's 'Breaking Dishes' (?!).

Suzi Quatro. Much like God, she gives with one hand then takes away with the other. But there the God comparisons must end.
