Shingai from the Noisettes would quite like to hear more bands being played on the radio.

Having a bit of a moan to the Daily Star Playlist, she said: “It’s sad radio stations are just playing female pop stars. We need to support bands, otherwise we could lose out on a generation of them.”

Asked, inevitably, about going to the BRIT School and hanging out with fellow students Adele and Jessie J, Shingai added: “I don’t have much in common with them.”

“I feel it’s amazing to be in a band because you can do more collaboratively. I wish everybody well but I think this country needs to look after its bands more.”
