The effects on Cher’s vocals on ‘Believe’ were used because her voice was a bit rubbish

Story filed by Brad O'Mance on August 1, 2012

The Real Cher has hinted that the only reason her vocals were put through an effects thingybob on ‘Believe’ was because they weren’t up to scratch.

In a typically brilliant run of tweets, the ‘Chastity’s Song (Band Of Thieves)’ hitmaker was explaining how she’s pretty quick when it comes to ‘nailing’ vocals in the studio (‘If I Could Turn Back Time’ was recorded in 90 minutes apparently), but that sessions for ‘Believe’ didn’t go to plan.

“Don’t mean 2sound pompous,it’s the only way I know!” she said. “BELIEVE Worst Time EVER in Studio!! Thats why we used Pitch Machine! It just Wasn’t working.”

Mind you, she’s really quite excited about the new batch of songs, despite not being a “Big Fan!”, and had some nice things to say about a certain Lady Gaga.

“think ALL SONGS R Great so Far& I’m not Big Fan!GREAT Writers!GAGA IS MAJOR&Her VOCAL IS AMAZING!KUK Heard TGTLast nite 4 1st Time & FREAKED.”

So there you have it.
