Some popstars are nominated for Teen Choice awards

Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen lead the nominations at the Teen Choice Awards with three nods ‘apiece’.

‘Give Your Heart A Break’ is up for Summer Song and Love Song, while Justin also has songs in both categories. ‘Call Me Maybe’ is up for Summer Song and all three artists compete for the coveted Choice Summer Music Star Male and Female gongs.

The UK is ‘represented’ by One Direction who also have three nominations and The Wanted who have two. Both groups go head-to-head against Coldplay for whatever silly name Teen Choice have given their Best Group award.

Ellie Goulding meanwhile further milks her two-and-a-half year-old debut in the Breakout Artist category. With competition from pop heavyweights like Gotye, Kimbra and Philip Philips that one could really go any way.

The Teen Choice Awards take place on July 22.
