Kelly Clarkson and John Legend think Duets is really unique

Kelly Clarkson’s been talking about what makes Duets so different from The Voice, The X Factor etc.

The answer it seems is the game-changing concept of mentorship from industry experts.

“Whenever I did Idol, like 10 years ago, I could have really used somebody helping me,” admitted Clarko. “I could have really used the advice, and just the savvy, the business savvy of it all, and I didn’t have anything like that. So I think that it’s very cool to be able to do that for these two contestants that I have.”

John ‘Not Lionel’ Legend stated that the genre-defying idea to have contestants actually perform with their coaches every week is what really makes Duets like no other.

“It’s a little bit more involved than, I think, the other judges on these other shows,” he told CNN. “Like, we’re working our butts off!”
