Karl Lagerfeld has apologised to Adele

Karl Lagerfeld has (sort of) apologised to Adele for saying she was “a little too fat” in an interview with the Paris edition of the Metro.

The designer said in a statement, as reported by Reuters, that he was Adele’s “biggest admirer” and that “sometimes when you take a sentence out of the article it changes the meaning of the thought”.

Touching on his own battle with cake Lagerfeld went on to say: “I know how it feels when the press is mean to you in regards to your appearance. Adele is a beautiful girl. She is the best. And I can’t wait for her next CD.”

In a separate interview with People magazine Adele said: “I’ve never wanted to look like models on the cover of magazines. I represent the majority of women and I’m very proud of that.”
