A demo that Dev Hynes submitted for Britney’s ‘Britney Jean’ album has leaked all over the place.

The intriguingly-titled ‘Britney Spears demo 1 no name’ doesn’t immediately sound like a song that Britney would record in a million years, but perhaps this was the early direction before will.i.am got involved.

Here it is anyway:

Charli XCX’s ‘Sucker’ will now be out in the UK in January 2015 http://www.popjustice.com/thenews/charli-xcxs-sucker-will-now-be-out-in-the-uk-in-january-2015/130984/ http://www.popjustice.com/thenews/charli-xcxs-sucker-will-now-be-out-in-the-uk-in-january-2015/130984/#comments Mon, 22 Sep 2014 15:32:30 +0000 http://www.popjustice.com/?p=130984 charli-xcx-2014-normal

Charli XCX’s new album ‘Sucker’ will now be out in UK on January 26 instead of being out in about a month’s time, which is a shame because having given it a spin we’d pretty much decided we were going to make it our album of the year.

The news was broken by Charli herself via a series of tweets which basically explained that because ‘Boom Clap’ is still hanging around everywhere, it sort of makes more sense for it to come out later.

Mind you, America are getting it before we do as it’s out there on December 16.

Here’s Charli’s tweet confirming that just in case you think we’re making it all up:

It’s worth the wait though, don’t you worry about that.

UPDATE: Here’s the album ‘art’.

There’s a new Tegan & Sara song online! http://www.popjustice.com/thenews/theres-a-new-tegan-sara-song-online/130982/ http://www.popjustice.com/thenews/theres-a-new-tegan-sara-song-online/130982/#comments Mon, 22 Sep 2014 15:25:20 +0000 http://www.popjustice.com/?p=130982 teganandsara

Sort of.

Look basically, Tegan & Sara sing some words on a new song by LA-based duo Night Terrors of 1927 called ‘When You Were Mine’.

The song’s taken from the latter’s second EP ‘Anything To Anyone’, which is out in America this week at some point, and you can listen to ‘When You Were Mine’ below right now:

Tegan and indeed Sara need to hurry up with this new album of theirs, don’t they.

Cheryl’s apparently looking to start her own record label next year http://www.popjustice.com/thenews/cheryls-apparently-looking-to-start-her-own-record-label-next-year/130972/ http://www.popjustice.com/thenews/cheryls-apparently-looking-to-start-her-own-record-label-next-year/130972/#comments Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 http://www.popjustice.com/?p=130972 Cheryl

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, née Tweedy, formerly Cole, also at one point just Cheryl, is apparently setting up her own record label.

According to a ‘music industry source’ with connections to Cheryl and the Daily Mirror, the label will launch next year and will be a home for music from all genres, not just pop.

“It’s a natural next step for Cheryl, having coached contestants for years on The X Factor,” the ‘music industry source’ explained with the distinct tone of every other source that turns up in stories like this.

“She knows what it takes to succeed in the industry from her experience as a performer – both as a solo artist and as a group, from her years in Girls Aloud.”

But does she definitely know her stuff?

“Cheryl definitely knows her stuff. The artists she’ll be interested in won’t just be pop acts – it will cross over all genres. She loves music and is really excited about being able to springboard new talent.”

There are no dates of when it’s all happening or information on which major might help fund it all (or indeed if it will be an independent), but no doubt that will be announced in due course, unless this whole thing is complete bollocks but the thing is readers we just like to think the best of people.

A new Mary J Blige song called ‘Whole Damn Year’ has appeared on the world wide web.

It’s off this ‘The London Sessions’ album thing she’s done with Disclosure, Sam Smith, ‘Jimmy’ Napes etc.

According to various sources, the song was co-written and co-produced by Naughty Boy and Emeli Sandé.

It sounds a hell of a lot like this (ie quite Emeli Sandé-esque):

‘Burnin’ Up’, which features 2 Chainz, will be out on September 23 in all the countries on the planet except the UK and Ireland. This must be our punishment for not appreciating Jessie’s talents.

Anyway Jessie’s also shared a snippet of the song which you can hear below by clicking the play button:

“Subliminal sex. Dripping in sweat.”

GIRLS ALOUD HAVE NOT SPLIT UP http://www.popjustice.com/thenews/girls-aloud-have-not-split-up/130918/ http://www.popjustice.com/thenews/girls-aloud-have-not-split-up/130918/#comments Fri, 19 Sep 2014 14:30:18 +0000 http://www.popjustice.com/?p=130918 Girls Aloud in a row

Sensational scenes for a Friday: Girls Aloud haven’t actually officially properly split up.

This semi-news has been revealed by the band’s chief choreographer and passport guardian Nadine Coyle in an interview with the Daily Mirror. The Mirror note that “Nadine refused to sign a contract formalising their separation – a piece of paper she still has not signed to this day”.

“I never signed it,” Nadine says, “so technically I’m still in Girls Aloud; I’m a one man band! I need holograms made up of them so I can go back out on stage in 30 years time…!”

She’s making light of the situation but there is a serious point here. In a very strict and we’re sure completely legally binding sense Girls Aloud have not split up so we don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to state that the band could in theory release a brand new single – or even a fresh triple album – before Christmas.

Elsewhere in the Mirror chat, Nadine – who famously tweeted this the morning after the The Twitlonger Of Doom – said the following paragraph’s worth of words, this time (we think) with regards to the band issuing a press statement:

“I didn’t want to put my name to anything to do with it so I said [to management], ‘If you want to write this thing from these four, then write it from these four – but I am taking no part in it.'”

‘These four.’ :(

There’s more along similar lines ‘vis-a-vis’ Nadine being the only one that wanted to carry on with it all, but you can head over to the Mirror’s site to read all that.

Exciting news about the potential new Girls Aloud single though right?

In new versions of songs no one really needs news, there’s now a version of ‘Bang Bang’ without the best bit in it.

The Jessie J portion remains.

You can listen to it below if you really must:

Oh well.

It sounds a hell of a lot like this the clip below. You will be surprised to learn that it is a sensual slow jam.
